Roll out the barrel ‘cause the gang’s all here! Nine rough an’ tumble petanquers came out to “shoot the boule” for about five hours last Saturday afternoon! Plenty of inquiries about the game from the crowd watching football nearby and we even got some newbies to play a 13 pointer with us! Here we are getting’ warmed up…

Warmin' up

Did you know? Petanque terrains make a great place to practice a little kung-fu fightin’ All the more reason why every park should have one! Here a group of local residents perform the morning ritual at McGuane Park …

“Two CPC boo-lee-ays mull about the cochonet and philosophize over the outcome of a round during last Wednesday’s game…”

Five CPC members came out to play nearly four hours of boules this evening! Hints of the coming autumn abound… long shadows slant across the dusty terrain, the gloaming of the setting sun is noticeably short and absent is the ice cream truck’s familiar rendition of “ Turkey in the Straw.”  The bray of the “elote” vendor’s air horn dominates the cool night air…Experience it all over again THIS SATURDAY AT NOON when we play again at McGuane Park ! Another dry, sunny September day in the forecast! Hope to see you all there!
