NEW Chicago Petanque Vehicle

Earlier this year, members of the Chicago Petanque Club decided to increase the membership dues and purchase an official club vehicle for special events, parades and outings. The vote was unanimous for the purchase, and today we proudly took delivery of our 2014 “boulemobile”. We decide on the color blue to match our new club shirts.

All CHICAGO Petanque Club members who PAID their 2014 club DUES will be getting their ALL NEW SUPER COOL DESIGN official CHICAGO club shirt this Sunday, July 13 at noon in Wheaton just in time for the Bastille Day celebration. If you will NOT be in Wheaton Sunday, but WILL be at MONDAY’s Bastille Day GAMES at Daley Plaza, LET ME KNOW and I will bring your shirt Monday afternoon for the event. Dan

Werner Visits from Germany

We had a guest player on Sunday. Werner Liebilt, who flew in from Germany yesterday and played with us today. Werner was presented with a club shirt and the ever-popular club beer stein. What could be more appropriate for a fellow petanque player from Deutschland. Beautiful weather for an excellent turnout of members.

PETANQUE on DALEY PLAZA

Come celebrate Bastille Day on Chicago’s Daley Plaza in the heart of downtown. Monday evening, July 14th, 4 pm till 9 pm. ENTERTAINMENT, MUSIC, FOOD, WINE and PETANQUE in front of the PICASSO. FREE lessons and games. FUN for all.

Petanque Fabulous Feast

Sunday’s PETANQUE FEAST was a rousing success and a culinary delight. Petanque and picnic is the perfect combination. Play a few games, enjoy a large assortment of tasty dishes, then play more games. The highlight of the afternoon was the unveiling of Cliff’s beautiful new bench and plaque. Great time for all. See Facebook for photo album.

June Petanque and Picnic

Sunday JUNE 15th. Games, potluck lunch, music, and the unveiling and dedication of the NEW Cliff Dufty memorial bench. We will celebrate the life of a friend and petanque mate. Bring a dish to share and a folding chair. Festivities start at noon at Memorial Park in Wheaton. Sunday, June 15th. Mark the date on your calendar for a fun afternoon of food, petanque and friendship.

Switzerland and France

Come on out to Wheaton’s Rathje Park this Sunday, June 8th, starting at 1 p.m. Special guests visiting from Switzerland and France will be joining us.

2014 Outdoor Season Kickoff

Sunday, we had an excellent kickoff of the outdoor season. Nice turnout. Many wearing the club shirt. (Shirts are getting a little faded. New shirts in 2014) We had a club meeting to discuss the new season.

Chicago Club Going to France

The president of the Pont du Chateau petanque club in France contacted me to let me know that he used some photos from our Chicago club website to setup an April Fools joke on his club members.

He told his members that the Chicago Club was going to visit France to play a few games with them. He told them it was going to be a big event. He was going to provide a translator. The next day he told them APRIL FOOLS.

Downers Grove North Petanque Meet

It was a sunny, cool, day of sizzling pointing and blazing shooting in Downers Grove. The plentiful, tasty pastries and hot chocolate made it the perfect petanque day with the Downers Grove North French class. Fun time for all.
